Headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina, Tekelec (TKLC) designs, manufactures, markets, and supports network signaling systems, switching equipment, and communications software solutions. The company maintains a large customer base, including several top-tier North American and foreign telephone companies. The company's high-margin Network Signaling Group develops and sells signaling application systems, and multi-disciplined signaling platforms designed for the mobile, fixed-line, Internet protocol (IP) networks along with solutions for converged networks. In addition, the company offers integrated application solutions, a suite of business-oriented applications, service creation systems and data acquisition product capturing information networks. Geographically, in fiscal 2007, the company derived 43% of sales from North America 32% from Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific (EAAA) region and the remaining 25% from the Caribbean & Latin America (CALA) region.
