Dallas-based Kimberly-Clark Corporation (KMB) sells paper-based consumer and medical products in more than 150 countries and holds the No. 1 or No. 2 position in terms of market share in more than 80 countries. The company operates through three business segments: Personal Care, Consumer Tissue, and Business-to-Business (B2B). The Personal Care segment produces diapers (Huggies, Pull-Ups, and GoodNites), swim pants (Little Swimmers), and adult/feminine hygiene products (Kotex, Lightdays, Poise, and Depend) and accounted for 41% of total revenues in 2007. The Consumer Tissue segment, which accounted for 35% of revenues, manufactures facial and bathroom tissues (Kleenex, Cottonelle, and Scott), paper towels, napkins, wet wipes, and other products. The B2B segment produces tissue products (Kimcare, KleenGuard, and WypAll), medical products (surgical gowns, disposable face masks, exam gloves, etc.), and technical papers, which generated the remaining 25% of revenues. The long-term annual financial targets of the Global Business Plan are 3% to 5% revenue growth, 40 to 50 basis points (bps) of operating margin improvement, and mid-to-high single-digit (5% to 8%) EPS growth.
