Wisconsin-based Johnson Controls is a supplier of automotive interiors, batteries, and other control equipment. The company functions through three segments: Automotive Experience, Building Efficiency and Power Solutions.

The Automotive Group produces automotive interior systems for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This business comprises 65% seating and 35% interiors/electronics. About 51% of the total revenues come from this segment. Of this, 44% is generated from the North American markets and 48% from Europe.

The Building Efficiency contributes 38% of total revenues. The segment provides facility systems and services including comfort, energy and security management for the residential and non-residential buildings market. The Building Efficiency division is 9% residential and 91% non-residential. The residential segment is 65% replacement and 35% new construction. The non-residential segment comprises 75% aftermarket and 25% new construction.

The Power Solutions forms 11% of total sales (63% in North America and 31% in Europe). JCI is the largest manufacturer of lead acid automotive batteries and developer of advanced battery chemistries in the world, with 80% sold in the auto aftermarket and 20% to OEMs.
