Welcome to Investing Minds' stock research area. This area uses a wiki, much like the Wikipedia. It's intuitive and easy to use, and you probably already have most of what you need! If you can browse the web and use Word (or the like), then you are 99% of the way there. However, there are a few tricky things you should know about:

  • Anyone can view the material in our research area without being a member but if you want to contribute to the content then you will need to sign up for our site. The link to do that is at the top of every page. Once you sign up not only can you contribute to our research but you can also contribute to our financial encyclopedia, participate in our investor network, and comment on our articles.
  • Once you have registered you can add a page under an existing page. First, go to the page you want the new page to appear under - e.g. to add a page that begins with the letter M you would go to the M page. Then click on the New Sub-page icon above.
  • Registered users can also edit any research page. You can also edit sections of pages by clicking on the icon that appears to the right of the section heading when you roll over the heading.
  • If a page has sections they will be listed in a table of contents. This table of contents is accessible by clicking on the open book icon, above and to the right, under the message "This page was modified less than..." Clicking on any of the section headings within that table of contents takes you directly to that section.
  • In order to create a section heading type in the words you want to use, highlight those words, then select a style from the dropdown box in the menu bar above. The heading numbers refer to the hierarchy that is created on the page, with heading 2 appearing under the previous Heading 1 section.
  • If you want to insert an image you need to be able to tell the Wiki where that image is. It can be hosted on another Web site or you can attach it directly to the page you are editing using the attach file functionality below. Then, using the insert image icon in the above menu bar, you tell the Wiki where the image is. Images should not exceed 635 pixels wide for best results. You can resize an image before inserting it.
  • If you want to see who has contributed what to a page you can click on the link above and to the right that says "This page was modified...".
  • We provide separate areas on each page for factual information, opinion, and discussion. Please use these areas appropriately.
