Baxter International, Inc. (BAX) is a global medical products and services company with expertise in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. The company operates through three main lines of business: BioScience, Medication Delivery, and Renal. The BioScience segment provides biopharmaceuticals to treat immune deficiencies and other blood-related disorders. This segment also offers vaccines for the prevention of various diseases, and surgical sealants. The Medication Delivery segment comprises a range of intravenous solutions and specialty products, like critical-care generic injectables and anesthetic agents for pain management, nutrition therapy, antibiotic therapy, and chemotherapy. Through its Renal business segment, the company offers dialysis-related products and services to assist patients suffering from kidney diseases. In fiscal 2007, Baxter's revenue totaled $11.26 billion, with BioScience contributing 42%, Medication Delivery 38%, and Renal 20%. Domestic revenues of $4.8 billion contributed 43% of sales while international revenues of $6.4 billion contributed 57% of total sales.
