Headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, 3Com Corporation (COMS) provides voice and data networking products, services, and solutions for commercial and public sector organizations of all sizes. Its solutions range from network infrastructure products such as local-area networking (LAN) switches, hubs, and routers to connectivity products that enable computing devices to access computer networks, such as desktop network interface cards and PC cards. The company also offers network management software and related services to install and integrate enterprise networks. For fiscal 2008, enterprise networking accounted for 99.8% of 3Com's total revenue while desktop, mobile, and server connectivity accounted for the remaining 0.2%. Geographically, 3Com generated nearly 55.3% of its fiscal year 2008 revenue from the Asia/Pacific region, 22.6% from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) 15.6% from North America and the remaining 6.5% from Latin and South America during fiscal 2008.

From the first quarter of fiscal 2009, 3Com has reported its business under two new segments Networking - will include H3C, Data and Voice business unit (DVBU), and corporate functions, and Security - will reflect the results of TippingPoint.
